There's 1 cringey habit that burns people out.

And too many companies are guilty of it.

That's allowing people to work sick.

You know what I'm talking about.

You have a teammate who has:

-The nasty cough.
-Red and watery eyes.
-The hoarse and raspy voice.

And they say:

-They're under the weather.
-They have a fever.
-They have a bug.

Yet they are still:

-Sending emails.
-Responding to texts.
-Answering their phones.

But this is “normal“ behavior.

And it shouldn't be.

So don't:

-Ask for a status update
-Expect responses to emails.
-Judge folks for taking sick time.

If someone is sick.

Tell them:

1. Rest and recover.
2. Focus on getting better.
3. You've got everything covered.

Because working while you're sick is awful.

And it doesn't have to be that way.
