What a great way to start the week! Aker Solutions, in collaboration with SLB Capturi, has been awarded the contract for the carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions at Hafslund Oslo Celsioβs waste-to-energy plant in Oslo, Norway. β

Once complete, the project will reduce the CO2 emissions from the plant by around 350.000 tonnes per year. β
β
This project marks a major milestone in the development of a full-scale CCS value chain, as part of the Norwegian Governmentβs Longship project. β
β
CCS is an important technology for achieving climate goals in sectors that are challenging to decarbonize β petroleum, cement, and waste management being just the beginning. Projects like these are crucial for further developing the technology and for spurring more projects around the world. β
β
Our scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) of the onshore facilities. The project will mainly involve our locations at Fornebu and Stord in Norway, and in Mumbai, India.Β β
β
The partners look forward to starting this project in the first quarter of 2025 and completing it by 2029. β
