It finally happened today.

I woke up. I checked my LinkedIn, and there was a connection request along with a message that there was a role available that someone had referred me for.

Not joking I almost cried.

The job itself: awesome.
To the former colleague who referred: I love you.
To my new connection: your company is so lucky to have such a positive and proud ambassador.

But it’s not remote and I can’t relocate 😭😭😭

That’s ok though. This gave me the sliver of hope that I needed to keep on keeping on. Things are changing. Jobs are popping up. And I am blessed to have people who care enough to share my name when asked. ❤️

My LinkedIn feed is EXPLODING with new job announcements today.

Apparently first Monday of Q2 is for the movers and the shakers 😃

Congrats to everyone starting today and an extra special happy first day to someone near and dear to my heart.

She hasn’t announced yet so I won’t ruin the surprise but if you’re reading this, I am so dang proud of you!! Xo

Cheers folks, happy Monday!!

🛑To anyone who has been laid off - your post about looking for new work doesn't need to thank the organization who tossed you aside.

The last company I worked for just did yet ANOTHER round of layoffs this past week.

They raised $30 million just a little over two years go.

I am not sure what the financial expertise of leadership is comprised of, but they went on a hiring (and spending) frenzy in late 2022 and into early 2023, to do multiple rounds of layoffs in the last 6 months.

These layoffs are all too common, and they are beyond frustrating given the state of the market as a whole

While I understand that organizations must make “tough“ business decisions, situations like this make me flat out angry.

I am angry for every single person who joined that organization and was promised the moon and instead got a taste of leadership with no compass, terrible company culture, and now unemployment.

The job hunt won't be easy, it most likely won't be quick, and it will require some extroardinary effort on the part of those trying to land a new role.

⭐️ Make sure you DO share what your skills are, what your expertise is comprised of, and what exactly you want to do next. ⭐️

There are people reading these posts who WANT to help so make sure you’re clear on how they can.

I'll get off of my soapbox here but this is just a dang shame. All of it. 😔

Exactly one week upon returning from Saastr, I received a job offer…

In the woods with my family - without cell coverage. So technically I missed the offer. 😳

On Saturday we drove into town, and my phone lit up with texts and voicemails.

Among them was a text from the hiring manager asking for a quick chat.

I called him right away - in the car, with my family listening, on speaker phone.

My kids got to hear what it sounds like to be offered a job that you’ve prayed about…

Such a meaningful moment as a working mother. ❤️

The story of how this job came to be is special on its own, and I will share more soon.

But for now, I’m just here to say I’m no longer a Free Agent.

I signed.

And I am so incredibly grateful.

Thank you for all of the messages, intros, support, and connections.

Linkedin is an amazing ecosystem. (hint hint)
