MOMENTUM IS THE LIFE OR DEATH OF A SALES TEAM…

No momentum? No sales. No energy. No fire. Your team turns into a bunch of excuse-making, finger-pointing zombies.

The best teams? They ride momentum like a freight train, smashing records, making winning their default.

The weak ones? They let momentum slip, and then they’re stuck in quicksandvblaming, complaining, and making excuses.

If your sales team has lost its edge, it’s on YOU as the leader to fix it. Here’s how:

1. Kill the Excuses Immediately

No more “the leads suck,” “the market is down,” or “people aren’t buying.” That’s loser talk. Winners don’t wait for perfect conditions, they make them.

2. Create a Daily Scoreboard

Track results every single day. Salespeople are competitors give them a scoreboard. Public accountability fuels action.

3. Inject ENERGY, DAILY

Your team mirrors YOUR energy. Show up on fire, intense, and relentless. If you’re dragging, they’re dead. Lead with intensity or get out of the way. That's why you must be the best version of yourself. Its your responsibility in leadership.

4. Sell THEM on Winning First

A team that believes they should win always finds a way. A team that hopes to win never does. Drill it into their heads: they are built for this, and they are expected to dominate.

5. Make Winning the Standard, Not the Goal

Losers chase wins. Champions expect them. Set standards so high that even an “off” day crushes the competition. If your team doesn’t see winning as the only option, you’ve already lost.

6. Raise the Pressure, Not the Excuses

Comfort is the enemy of greatness. When sales slow down, weak leaders get soft. Real leaders increase the pressure and push their team HARDER. Pressure creates diamonds or exposes the weak.

7. Hire the Right People From Day One

Stop wasting time with the wrong hires. Use tech, personality tests, and data to get it right the first time. Then, take great people and make them elite.

8. Turn Up the Competition

Sales teams thrive on competition. Rank your reps, announce the top performers daily, and reward killers. Make it personal. The ones who hate losing will start winning.

9. Reset the Focus Every Morning

Momentum is won or lost the moment the day starts. Don’t let your team “ease into the day”—attack from the first second. Morning meetings? Fast. Loud. Focused. Urgent.

10. Fire Fast, Hire the Hungry

A weak link will destroy momentum faster than anything else. If someone doesn’t buy in, cut them loose. Build your team with killers who crave the win.

Fire up your team, build momentum, and never let it die.

Because when momentum is gone…so is the paycheck.

And remember, culture isn’t words on a wall. It’s what happens when no one’s watching. Build a culture of warriors, not whiners. Set the tone. Set the standard.
