How can an unused railway site be reimagined as a nature-positive urban space?
We’re thrilled that our design to regenerate a former industrial railway site owned by FS Sistemi Urbani in Comune di Bologna has won the C40 Cities Reinventing Cities competition.Â
Located about three kilometres to the north-west of the city, the Green Soul redevelopment proposal will recast the Ravoni-Prati district as an urban link, with a new rail station and bridge playing a strategic role for reconnecting the area. The neighbourhood will promote a sustainable lifestyle, where the landscape is in synergy with the ‘nature-positive’ community, becoming a key element for the resilient response to climate change and a driver for decarbonisation.
We’ll be working as the lead architect and urban planner on the masterplan for the site, alongside real estate developer Nhood Services Italy and Politecnico di Milano as environmental expert.
