His view is that tiny changes done consistently can lead to remarkable results. Using a framework called the ๐‘ญ๐’๐’–๐’“ ๐‘ณ๐’‚๐’˜๐’” ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ฉ๐’†๐’‰๐’‚๐’—๐’Š๐’๐’“ ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’๐’ˆ๐’†, Atomic Habits teaches readers a simple set of rules for creating good habits and breaking bad ones.
ย
The three key lessons from the book are:
1.ย ย ย ย Small habits make a big difference
2.ย ย ย ย Instead of goals, focus on your systems first
3.ย ย ย ย Build identity-based habits
ย
My own small hack of setting up systems that work for me is a simple timer. For activities that require my undivided attention, I allocate 30-minute time-pods, and use a very visible timer in front of me to get as much of the work done as possible. Think of it like a countdown timer in front of a speaker in front of a large audience. The timer provides real-time feedback and enables the speaker to speed up or slow down as needed. My habit-hack enables me to:
1.ย ย ย ย Focus on one task at hand (single-tasking)
2.ย ย ย ย Be devoid of any distractions (emails, calls, instant messengers, etc.)
3.ย ย ย ย Increase my productivity by pushing my limits in a finite time slot
ย
What are your habit-forming personal growth hacks?
