Hey everyone, I recently spoke at Hansraj College, and my sincere gratitude goes to the Commerce Society, Hans Raj College for orchestrating such an incredible session for first-year students! Special thanks for inviting me :)

Upon receiving the invitation, I engaged in extensive deliberation about whether to accept and speak. This session wasn't about competitions (I have some experience in speaking about them) but rather focused on long-term careers, where undoubtedly more qualified people exist (with 'undoubtedly' being the key word).

I decided to go ahead because I felt it was important to share with first years one very crucial message - it's the effort that truly counts, not the result.

I vividly recall being in the shoes of first-years not too long ago, and I've observed many individuals taking everything too seriously. For them, facing rejections in careers, internships, and competitions proved to be quite challenging. So, the core of my message centered around embracing the entire journey, not just fixating on the destination (be it success or failure). For those who take a lot of stress, even the cushion upon which your interviewer sits or the temperature of their drink can influence perceptions. (scientifically proven). In the midst of this inherent randomness, I urge you to cease stressing and simply savor the entirety of the process.
