Over-plan.
Someone once asked me if I had a social media calendar for the entire year. I said noâmarketing moves way too fast to plan that far ahead.
And this is a perfect example of why.
McDonald's dropped an ad asking ChatGPT, âWhat is the most iconic burger in the world?â and, of course, ChatGPT said the Big Mac.
They put that on a billboard and ran with it.
But then, Burger King's marketing team jumped in and acted FAST.
They bought the billboard right next to McDonaldâs and remade the same ad, but with a twist: they asked ChatGPT, âWhat is the biggest burger in the world?â
Bigger > Iconic. Simple, effective, and way more relevant.
Itâs all about adding real value for the consumer, and BK nailed it by staying quick, creative, and on point.
I love how they turned McDonaldâs ad into an opportunity to push their own brand and message.
This is why staying agile and ready to jump on opportunities is so important in marketing.
