TikTok is testing a new ‘Nearby’ feed.
It's designed to display local content to users.
This makes a lot of sense.
The amount of local content popping up in my FYP has increased dramatically in the last few months.
(Anyone else noticed this as well?)
Of course, the implications of this are huge
Imagine...
Restaurants recos coming from TikTok instead of Yelp.
Meals documented on TikTok instead of Instagram
Searching for 'things to do' on TikTok instead of Google.
While TikTok has stated they are an “entertainment app, not a social network“ - they're actually much, much more.
TikTok is bundling local, search, social, and commerce and poised to become the next great superapp.
