I'm a 25 year old woman.

Here's all the suggested things I should do/have done before I'm 30:

Go to college - 2 years
Go to University - 3-5 years
Gain 'experience' - 3 years
Build a profitable side hustle - an optimistic 1 year
Build an emergency fund - 2 years
Get a job - 3-6 months
Survive probabtion - 6 months
Get promoted - 1 year
Move into senior levels - 3 years
Start investing - 1 year to learn
Buy a house - 5 years on average to save a deposit
Meet 'The One' - I'll give an optimistic 5 years for time invested in dating, relationships and culling of mismatches, followed by an 'average' 3 years of time with 'the one' before marriage...
Have a kid - or two - 19 months if we're rushing
Read a book a month
Go on holiday
Stretch everyday
Go to the gym 3x a week
Get a dog
Walk the dog 3 times a day
Wait - you're not selling on Etsy?!
Create a course - Sarah did and now she works from Bali 2 hours a day, 3 days a week!
Do the food shopping
Do the cooking
Do the school runs
Watch that film
Try that new excercise
Watch this series which is on the ONE streaming platform you don't pay £7 a month for!

Oh and you have to do it all with a big fat smile on your face and pretend like you're not literally 1 burnt toast slice away from retreating into your bed for a decade!!

In the UK you start college at 16.

Can someone please tell me how the hell I'm supposed to cram 33 years worth of 'acheivements' into 14?!

In 2024 let’s STOP telling women what they need to do before 20, or 30, or 40.

There's no age limit on any of these things, and there's no magic list of things to tick off.

Do what you love and what works for you, and tell Auntie Carol at the Christmas dinner to f*ck off the next time she asks when you're having kids, or if you're married yet, or if you're earning big yet.

My agency helps STEM brands appeal to women and the younger generation just like me through the creation of brand communities. We're encouraging and empowering the next generation of leaders and women into STEM roles that help break this cycle of expectation and social bias.

Now... What's on YOUR 'list'?
