There’s power in visibility. But there’s also great power in rolling up your sleeves and moving in silence. For the past 3 years I’ve worked at Facebook, recruiting and interviewing some of the smartest engineers in the world. It was a role that excited me but also challenged me and frustrated me.

Most folks that look like me don’t think it’s even possible to work for dream companies like Facebook. Even while working here, I faced imposter syndrome and needed to remind myself of my self worth and value. It took a lot of learning and unlearning.

At times, I felt conflicted sharing with people where I worked, but as I continue down this path, I’m understanding the importance of sharing my victories with people around me. Not to brag, but to inspire. To give hope and show how far faith, consistency, and resilience can take you.

As of today, I’ve resigned from Facebook and accepted a position with Netflix as a Talent Researcher; another company I once never imagined working for.

This young black boy from Chicago is opening doors for the next generation and let me tell ya’ll, it feels GOOD!

So here’s to another new chapter of possibilities, challenges and growth. Momma we made it!
