Have you ever noticed how effortlessly nature seems to move? Birds migrate, rivers flow, and trees grow, all without resistance. What if we could harness that same effortless energy in our work lives?
When we take our cues from nature and accept the direction the universe sends us, we can discover unimaginable success. It’s about finding our flow state—a place where we are fully immersed and engaged in what we’re doing.
Here are some thoughts on how we can get into that flow state, along with some personal examples:
🌊 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞: We can choose tasks that push our limits just enough to keep us motivated but not overwhelmed. I find that recognizing discomfort and accepting that it is a sign of growth helps me stay motivated.
🌊 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬: Setting clear, achievable goals can help us stay focused and purposeful. I’m visual so it helps to see my goals, plus I get lots of satisfaction from making lists. I make sure to include what I’m grateful for, scheduled calls, and what I hope to do (personally and professionally on separate sides). I’ve learned to push myself to accomplish everything on the list but to give myself grace when I’ve been too ambitious.
🌊 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞: When we face unexpected challenges, let’s remember to adapt and flow with them. I like to imagine a river finding its path when things I wasn’t counting on get in my way. How can I keep forward momentum and navigate around obstacles while staying true to my course? Reflecting on this question helps me stay resilient and adaptable.
So how about others…. How do you reach moments of flow state in your work?
Hoping our conversation sets us on the right path for a productive and “flowing” week ahead! 🙏💙
