Never be ashamed of where you come from or whether you have an accent if English is not your first language...

🇲🇽 I am from Mexico and when I moved to the U.S. to study, I was afraid it would be hard for me to get a job because of my accent.

💎 When I created my first video I was afraid that people would make comments about my accent.

💪 One day I received a message that another fellow content creator was being bullied because of their accent and I realize that I was not alone in being afraid about this. It was my time to support them.

You are not alone, we are all here 👋

If you are in another country speaking their language that is not your first one, you are already crushing it! Not only you had to learn the language but now you are studying and/or working in that other language! Keep rocking! 👊

And now... my favorite quote from Modern Family that pretty much sums up this experience sometimes...

2023 has been an emotional rollercoaster, but I couldn't have wished for a better way to end it than joining Google as a Product Manager!

Halfway through 2023, I paused creating content to focus on my mental health (and my Google interviews!). Now that the year is wrapping up, I couldn't be more excited to have found a great team in an amazing company!

I will continue creating content to help more people interested in Tech and Product Management, so stay tuned for more! And for those struggling, reach out if you need help - many people around you care about you. Trust me, I learned it the hard way.

📝 From the filter on the top left, select “𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬“, this will show you who has recently used the phrases:
“I'm 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠...“
“My team is 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠...“
“X company is 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠...“
and any other combination of words that include the word 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 and “𝐣𝐨𝐛“ you filtered for.

⚙️ Select the option “𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬“ on the top right where you'll find the filter “𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲“. Add whichever company or companies you are interested in. In my example below I chose Facebook.

🤔 Their LinkedIn inbox is probably flooded with messages like that, so how can you stand out? do this:

✅ Review the job posting they shared carefully
✅ Think of your own experience and find 3 things that makes you a good candidate for the position (hint: look at the requirements of the job)
✅ Send them this message:

“Hi [Name],

I saw your recent post about an opportunity for [role] at your company. My name is [your name] and I'm currently a [your current job] at [your current company].

I'm very interested in joining [their company] because [your reason to WHY you want to join their company. This shouldn't be more than 2 lines].

A bit about myself:

- [1st experience 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 (and I can't emphasize enough the word 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝) to the job posting they shared. No more than 3 lines]
