Apparently they were serious!!!

A toxic company with poor leadership will shame and ridicule those that dare to 'leave on time' and will also say work is all that matters.

A healthy company with strong leadership will encourage employees to leave on time because they know there is life outside of work.

I've worked for both and I have always performed better when I am seen, valued, and appreciated.

It's a simple equation but missed by so many businesses; human being flourish when the environment is right!

Criticism withers people, while praise builds them up.

You don’t yell at a child because they haven’t worked out how to walk yet. You encourage, support, praise and guide them.

Somehow in business a lot of bosses and managers forget this.

Now this is not about fake praise and it’s not about free lunches and bean bags. It’s about finding the right things to praise but also providing feedback that is vital for growth.

This is the difference between the outdated ‘command and control’ model of leadership versus the ‘trust and inspire’ model which is far more successful and effective.

You don’t yell at the plant to make it grow, you nurture the environment it grows in. People are pretty much the same.
