7 months ago, Sarvjeet Singh Bhuller reached out to me on LinkedIn.
Sarvjeet is a career changer. He moved from India and became a postman, before realising that his real passion lies in law. He self funded all his legal studies including his LLB through the Open University and he completed the LPC-LLM in February 2021, all while working as a postman. He currently works 6 days a week and is a voluntary legal assistant to get more experience as he has struggled to break into the legal profession.
Sarvjeet’s message and story was incredibly inspiring and when I shared it on LinkedIn (with his consent) it was viewed over half a million times with hundreds of people offering assistance.
I stayed in contact with him as I was very keen to follow his journey. I’m delighted that he recently agreed to be my GROW MENTORING mentee and we had our first mentoring session last night. Here we are in the second picture ☺️
7 months on, Sarveet is still experiencing the struggle that many aspiring lawyers come up against when they are seeking to break into the legal profession. However, I’m not worried about him getting there as his determination and tenacity is clear for all to see. He sacrificed so much including an unpaid years sabbatical to complete the LPC whilst throughout supporting his family.
I can’t wait to work with him more. In the meantime, if you know of or have an Training Contract or paralegal with a view to Training Contract vacancies in the Derby area, please do get in touch with Sarveet.
Watch this space for more updates re our mentoring journey together!
