Best Posts by Jesse Chan on LinkedIn

I grew my LinkedIn to 26k in 5 months.

9 mistakes I made when I started LinkedIn:

→ Trying to speak + appeal to everyone in my posts
→ Not experimenting and tracking analytics
→ Lack of consistency in posting schedule
→ Not giving much thought to my hooks
→ Spending too much time engaging
→ Not focusing on my formatting
→ Talking too much about myself
→ Posting whatever I felt like it
→ Not optimising my profile

Instead, this is the exact strategy I use now:

→ Talk directly to my ICP
→ Optimise for skimmability
→ Focus on writing a strong hook
→ Optimise my profile for conversion
→ A/B test and double down on what works
→ Post at the same time + on the same days
→ Post with intention: inspire, educate, convert
→ Use Kleo for inspiration, ChatGPT for brainstorming
→ Time block 30 mins before + after posting to engage

LinkedIn rewards clarity, consistency, and strategy.

Keep refining your strategy until you find what works.

I traded my 9–5 for entrepreneurship.

Now I work 24/7.

When I left Amazon to start my business, I thought I’d feel… free.

Turns out, freedom looks a lot like doing everything yourself.

The harsh truth I learnt:

You’re not just the founder.
You’re the salesperson, operator, accountant, marketer all in one.

→ Replying to client emails at 10pm
→ Doing outreach that no one replies to
→ Jumping on sales calls that make you sweat
→ Making sure you hit £X MRR targets to keep operating
→ Booking in appointments, doing the work, sending invoices

It’s not that I don’t love what I do. I really do.

But I didn’t expect how often I’d be doing the parts I don’t love.

The admin.
The late nights.
The second-guessing.

And yet…
I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Because I've learnt so much through this process.
Because I’m building something that’s mine.
Because I’m betting on me.

It’s not always glamorous.

But it’s real.

Coming up with great ideas is easy.

Execution is where it gets hard.

Yesterday, I was at the Kickstart Global Summit at Google:

- 42 pitches
- 50+ VCs ready to invest

The energy in the room was insane.

Seeing so many talented people with great ideas reminded me:
→ Ideas are worthless without execution.

You can have the best idea in the world.

But if you don’t put in the work…
It’s just noise.

You’ve got to step into the right rooms and make things happen.

Stop waiting for the perfect moment.
It’s not coming.

Build the habit of showing up.

Take the first step, even if it’s messy.

Bet on yourself.
Then execute relentlessly.

The Fastest Way to Grow on LinkedIn?

↳ Post more.

Not random content.
Not low-effort posts.

More high-quality, value-led content.

Because the more reps you put in, the faster you:

→ Experiment and learn what resonates.
→ Improve your quality of content.
→ Build trust with your audience.

Most people think quantity kills quality.

It doesn’t.
The lack of a system does.

5 Habits that help me post Quality Content at Scale:

1. Bulk create content a week in advance
↳ Allows you to write with intent, not randomly on the day.

2. Repeat my message in different ways
↳ People need to hear things multiple times for it to stick.

3. Repurpose my best-performing posts
↳ Double down on the formatting and hooks that work.

4. Use a content calendar
↳ Plan posts to align with my content strategy.

5. Create a content bank
↳ Save ideas as I scroll so I don't get writer's block.

6. Write multiple drafts
↳ Re-read your posts with a fresh pair of eyes to ensure it's packed with value.

You need both quality AND quantity to grow.

More posts = More data

You learn faster, iterate quicker and refine your strategy.

If you’re struggling to post often without sacrificing quality, you don’t need more time.

You need a better system.

When I first posted on LinkedIn, I was terrified.

(I know you’ve felt this way too)

But I started posting, even when:
→ I didn’t feel qualified.
→ I didn’t think anyone would listen.
→ I didn’t know where this would take me.

That little voice in my head almost convinced me to stay quiet.

5 months later, I'm SO glad I started posting.

The truth is you're not bad at things, you're just new to it.

The real difference?
↳ Some push through, while others give up too quickly.

2025 is YOUR year.

→ Consistency beats confidence.
→ Your first posts won’t be perfect.
→ Growth doesn’t come from staying comfortable.

If you’ve been holding back, take this as your sign to start!

The worst-case scenario?
You learn and grow.

The best-case scenario?
You unlock opportunities you never dreamed of.

Happy New Year everyone! 🥳

99% of people stop posting on LI within 3 months.

The secret to being the 1%?

↳ Relentless consistency.

Anyone can show up for a day.
Anyone can show up for a week.
But less than 1% consistently show up for a year.

Most people quit too soon because:
→ They post for a few weeks and see no results.
→ They let self-doubt convince them their voice doesn’t matter.
→ They expect overnight wins, not realising it’s a long-term game.

Here’s how I make it easier to stay consistent on LI:

1. Plan my content a week in advance.
2. Stick to a posting routine (daily non-negotiable).
3. Time-blocking my calendar to engage every day.
4. Save posts as I scroll on LinkedIn for inspo.
5. Repurpose my top-performing posts.

Success is not guaranteed.
The only guarantee is to never give up.

Be obsessively persistent.
Day after day. Post after post.

Hard pill to swallow:

It’s not the algorithm. It’s your content.

Stop blaming the ‘changing algorithm’ for your low engagement.

Focus on refining your content strategy.

Here’s how:

❌ Instead of posting daily for the sake of it.
✅ Set a realistic posting schedule (same time + days).
✅ Batch-create content in advance to post with intent.

❌ Instead of trying to appeal to everyone.
✅ Get crystal clear on your ICP + talk directly to them.
✅ 1 post→ 1 target audience→ 1 problem→ 1 solution.

❌ Instead of copying other creators.
✅ Focus on adding value through your unique expertise.
✅ Experiment until you find your voice + signature brand.

There are only 3 types of content you need to post:

1. 40% Top of the Funnel (to create awareness)
↳ e.g. personal stories, general industry topics

2. 40% Middle of the Funnel (to nurture + build trust)
↳ e.g frameworks, how-to's, free guides, cheatsheets

3. 20% Bottom of the Funnel (to convert your audience)
↳ e.g testimonials, case studies, screenshots of results

Stop blaming the algorithm.
Start creating higher-quality content.

Keep experimenting until you find what works for YOU.
