4 days ago, I almost broke. (Trigger warning.)
I was hesitant to share this, but here goes:
It was the usual crispy winter morning.
- I rested my forehead on my favourite tree
- Proceeded to sit under it for my mediation
- Then skated through the leaves to Cafe G’s
“Morning guys!” I chirped.
“Joe! The usual?” my barista-bestie shot back.
“You know it!” As I fumbled out my Macbook Pro.
Did the usual rounds:
- 2x glasses of water
- Quick trip the the loo
- Full body stretch
“Ready to lock the f*ck in.”
But that’s when it happened.
It hit me like a sharp arrow to the heart.
(I feel a small puddle under my left eye as I write this.)
But for you guys… Linkedin. I’m going to push through.
That’s when he broke the news…
“Joe errrr. I’m not sure how to put this… Bu. Buttt.
We’ve actually run out of carrots.
There’s none left. Literally none. We’ve checked everywhere.”
My honest first reaction?
It took everything in me, all my restraint, not to left hook this evil man who let me pay for my carrot and ginger WITHOUT checking they had carrots.
But that’s when I remembered something.
It was a quote from a billboard post on here.
“Every problem is an opportunity to grow.”
So do you know what I did… Do you?
I took a deep breath and gently said…
“Okay. Do you have Apples?”
“Yes! Yes, we do! How about Apple & Ginger?”
“That’ll work. Let’s do it. Thank you, my friend.”
See old me would have lost it in that situation.
But thanks to an unnamed Creator (hero) who superimposed a simple quote onto an AI-generated billboard using a free trial on Canva, I stayed cool.
Thank you, LinkedIn. ❤️
