And when that happens, we fall into the trap of “self-rejection“.
Let's be honest: we all fall into this. I can admin I did throughout my career; I saw an open role with hundreds of applicants on LinkedIn and said to myself “I probably wouldn't get an interview anyways“
Let's shift that mindset, little do you know that...
💡 The number of applicants on LinkedIn jobs may not even be the ACTUAL number; rather, whenever someone clicks “apply“, LinkedIn will track that as an “applicant“. So in reality, a job req on LinkedIn could say there is 100 applicants, but might only be 20 who have filled out the application
💡On LinkedIn jobs, go to the jobs that say “Promoted“ + “Easy Apply“. These are usually the ones that show up first; why? These companies are the ones hiring quickly, thus why they've paid for extra features to show up on the top of your search results. Apply to these, and even better, reach out to the hiring manager after doing so
💡Make sure you fit most of the minumum qualifications for a job, but if you don't fit all of the “preferred qualifications“, that's okay: still apply because remember this: the worst thing can happen is a rejection, but the best thing that can happen? An interview which can lead to a job opportunity.
Hoping the best for you all on your #JobSearch; let's get you more jobs (And if you need more help: https://bit.ly/3pDbGLV)
