When I was starting Hint, many suggested I hire “experience.”  People from the industry. 🤔

Here is what I learned. 👇

When you are creating a new category, you need people who are builders. 🛠️

You can teach people what they need to know. 👩‍🏫

Experienced people often think they know the way and have a difficult time seeing a new way. 

Especially in these early stages. 

And they can often limit you and the team from thinking differently and trying new ways. 

💡 Lesson: Hire people who are passionate and excited about what you are trying to achieve!

Who are willing to work smart and hard. 

Passion crushes experience. 😉

Hire those who believe in your mission and goals. 💯

People who want to be part of a solution. And who are willing to think differently.  💭

And who you believe can. ✨

One of the biggest things I am always reminding anyone who needs to hear…👇

It really is possible to do what you are interested in. 

You don’t need to settle for taking a job.  🤷

You need to find that thing that makes you want to get up every day.  🔥

But you need to believe you can. 💪

And you need to search for that idea or company or industry that interests you.  💡

It’s ok to start somewhere.  And learn about an industry. 

Maybe you will find something that makes you curious that makes you want to create a company.  🔍

Finding your interests is what helps you to commit to doing big things too. 

When you can imagine working on something so interesting every day, that is what makes your journey that much more memorable. 🙌
