☑️ Get interrupted 100 Xs a day and carry on like nothing.

☑️ Talk to strangers like friends.

☑️ Ring someone up, answer the phone, and take off sensors with one hand.

☑️ Listen on a walkie while you also talk to someone else and run product.

☑️ Go from zero to 90 in a second.

You can do anything!

It’s hard to be in a customer-facing environment right now.

Be patient and kind where ever you go.

and most importantly

Keep track of my email inbox without getting crushed. 😆

If you come from retail, you can do ANYTHING.

Don't ever forget it. ✌🏼

Here's a piece of paper with 20 names on it.
You are now in charge of all of these people for the next hour.
You need to -

✓ Make sure they get breaks.
✓ Keep motivated.
✓ Provide amazing customer service.

You also need to -

✓ Walk figure 8's through your sales floor.
✓ Provide outstanding customer service.
✓ Keep an eye out for shady behavior.

✓ Move people around quickly as you develop lines.
✓ Address any customer service issues/questions
✓ Explain all rewards programs & company policies.

✓ Make exceptions to policies.
✓ Handle any call-outs and adjust accordingly.
✓ Pull sales reads & motivate the team.

Not to mention:
✓ Check for online orders
✓ Pack and ship those orders
✓ Process online returns

You must also remain calm & positive while doing all of this.

That's just a glimpse into what running a sales floor is like.

It takes incredible focus.

It takes years to cultivate that skill set and it's extremely valuable.

Keep shining.

Retail leaders have one of the most misunderstood jobs. 
Much of the work goes unseen by the general public.
They don't see it, so they don't get it.

Their teenage kid can get a job in a retail store, so the work must be easy.

A college degree is not required, so anyone can do it.

(If you're a retail leader, I'll give you a minute to collect yourself and clean up the coffee you spit out amidst your outrage.)
