There is an uneasiness to this week.
Tomorrow, thousands of Amazonians await the proverbial HR invitation letting us know if we'll be losing our jobs.
We knew it was coming and it doesn't make it any easier. Especially stepping in to the job seeker position in this already saturated market.
How can you support or help someone currently job seeking or about to be looking for work? Tap in to your network. Direct applicants are more likely to receive rejections than referrals and connecting with internal employees. See a job posting at your company that looks like a fit for someone? Reach out to your network and refer, connect with managers, and offer to help prep in any way. See a post on LinkedIn that may aligns with someone's experience? Tag them and introduce in the comments/messages. Even just sending them a message in support helps boost someone's drive.
Networking is a powerful thing and can expedite the job search process.
