I’m back from holiday and I need to share a bit about my husband. Here he is, flying alone with three kids on a 9-hour flight from Denmark 🇩🇰 to the USA. 🇺🇸

Yes, alone.

Due to new travel restrictions in the USA, we didn’t have the necessary paperwork in English for our children to travel. My husband sent me ahead on the flight so I could make funeral arrangements for my father and start the process of going through his house.

It meant he had to take our kids home, find the paperwork and (hopefully) try to come later.

This post isn’t about our travel challenges this summer, but to celebrate the efforts and sacrifices our partners make every day.

Specifically, the efforts and sacrifices my husband makes every day.

About six months ago, my husband took at step back from his grueling psychiatry practice to work part time. He wanted to have more time with our kids and more time to enjoy the life we’ve built.

He also wanted to give our family extra support so I could focus on building a company which turns out is a pretty time consuming thing.

A family member made a comment to him about how it was “completely OK to have lower ambitions.”

My husband responded: “I have to disagree. I have extremely high ambitions… they’re just not all about work.”

I am so grateful every day for the support and love I have from my partner. In the big and in the small ways.

Never forget to share our appreciations for the people around us, for all the ambitions we hold.

Not only the work ones. ❤️
