Last year, I spent £199 on Lara Acosta's course.

Not just to learn but for the power of proximity.

I bought her course for 2 main reasons:

1. I wanted to learn from one of the best
2. I genuinely really liked her as a person

I didn't know her but I had a feeling we could be friends.

(Bit weird to admit but you get me).

One year later I'm speaking at Lara Acosta's webinar.

Okay when I say speaking.
She asked me questions about my journey.

But...

1000+ new people saw my face, heard my story and learnt what I did.

Since investing almost a year ago:

We've met in person 3-4 times.
She's introduced me to current clients.
We've become actual friends.

So here's what £199 really bought me:

↳ Access to Lara's world
↳ Connections I couldn't have made alone
↳ Relationships that turned into revenue

Simply from being in the right room.

Buying a course or a coaching program isn't just about content.

Information is free (if you want it).

What you can't google is proximity.

Being close to people who inspire you.
Building real relationships with them.
Having them open doors for you.

That tiny investment changed my trajectory.

Not because of what I learned.

Because of who I got close to.

Sometimes the best strategy isn't strategy at all.

It's just showing up where the right people are.

______

P.S. If you're reading this and:

- You think you'd vibe with me
- You're a founder wanting to grow your personal brand
- You want leads coming to you (without being cringe)

DM me BRAND.

I'll ask you some questions and we'll see if you're a good fit for my new coaching program.

I gained 42,000+ followers in 12 months.

By breaking these LinkedIn rules:

1. Post every day
2. Use validated templates
3. Comment for 2 hours a day
4. Post at the same time every day
5. Niche down and talk about one thing
6. Use case studies to convert your audience

That advice rarely works for...

People just starting out
Busy people with full-time jobs
Leaders without a content team

Here's what I did instead:

1. Chose a realistic posting goal
2. Wrote like I talk, not like a robot
3. Commented when I had something to say
4. Posted when I could, not when I should
5. Talked about my stories and my journey
6. Shared real tips that helped me

There are so many 'rules' about how to grow on LinkedIn.

I dare you to break a few.

Find what works for you.

Because if your content is good enough…

Your people will find you.

I’m not afraid to say: I don’t want a simple life.

I don't want to hide my ambition.
I don't want to stay at 40K followers.
I don't want to play it safe with my content.
I don't want to pretend I'm not competitive.
I don't want to apologise for wanting to be known.
I don't want to act like money doesn't matter.
I don't want to clock off at 5pm every night.
I don't want to just be able to pay my bills.
I don't want to be "comfortable".

Sometimes, I wish I wanted a simple life.

Maybe then that nagging feeling of never doing enough or having enough would go away...

But that's not me.

I want to speak on stages.
I want to buy a beautiful house.
I want to build a million-dollar business.
I want to help thousands find their voice online.
I want to build a huge, incredible, loyal community.
I want to wake up excited about Monday mornings.
I want to prove that wanting more isn't greedy.
I want to be able to make my family proud.
I want to be able to build my dream life.

It's scary to admit that you want more, especially when you have a lot.

But I'm saying it out loud anyway.

Because the only way to make something happen.

Is by admitting it.

What do you really want?

14 months ago I had zero LinkedIn followers.

Today, I’ve got a community of 41,432.

(Typing that still feels surreal tbh).

When people ask how I've grown my following...

My answer is simple: Consistency.

You have to be relentlessly consistent.
You have to show up even when you don't want to.
And, you have to make showing up easy.

That's why I use Stanley (Your Content Coach).

Now:

I never run out of ideas
↳ He sends me 9 pre-validated ideas each week

It saves me 80% of my time
↳ He gives me first drafts that actually sound like me

I hit publish nearly every day
↳ There are no excuses no to

It’s stupidly simple to use.

Because if it’s not simple → I’m not using it.

You can tell him to:

1. Draft ideas he sends by email.
2. Share ideas based on your previous posts.
3. Upload info/docs and ask him to draft posts.
4. Give feedback on pre-written posts.

If you want to grow...

Build systems that remove friction.

When motivation fails systems keep you moving.

That way when you're busy + tired, you'll still show up.

Because, consistency is the real growth hack here.

I used to be so inconsistent with posting on LinkedIn.

Every day I'd say, "I'll try tomorrow".

That lasted for around 3 months and guess what...
"Tomorrow" there was always another excuse.

Then, Sahil Bloom introduced me to Skinner's Law.
Now I post 5-6 x per week without fail.

Skinner's Law is simple:

Make the pain of not doing it worse than doing it.
Or, make doing it more pleasurable than avoiding it.

Now I have one rule:

No coffee until my post is published.
My procrastination had consequences.

The pain of no caffeine > the pain of writing.

Here's how to use this for anything:

1. Public accountability
↳ Tell LinkedIn you're posting daily.
↳ Now skipping = public failure.

2. Reward yourself
↳ Post done = favourite treat.
↳ Your brain starts craving the win.

3. Work with someone
↳ Find an accountability buddy.
↳ Can't let them down.

Make it unbearable or irresistible.

And, get posting.

P.S. What's your "no coffee until..." rule going to be?

I've struggled showing up on LinkedIn this week.

(Probs why this post is going out at 4pm).

Some days, weeks, months...

You just don't want to do it.

Maybe you're too busy with work.
Maybe you're not feeling creative.
Maybe you're just feeling a bit meh.

No one wants to show ALL the time.

But it's the people that do who succeed.

So here I am....

Late. Uninspired. Still posting.

Because I don't want to do it only when it's easy.
Because I know LinkedIn is my most important channel.

So if you're not "feeling it".

Show up anyway.

That's where real growth happens.

So, I've heard anyway...

When I first started posting on LinkedIn, I attracted all the wrong people.

I shared how I lost my job.
How I was using LinkedIn to find work.
The struggles of unemployment.

My DMs were full.

But the problem was...

Everyone needed help.
But, none of them could afford it.

I was talking to the wrong audience.

I see the same thing with my coaching clients today.

They’re creating content.
Spending hours on LinkedIn.
But they're not speaking to the right people.

And that’s why they’re not getting results.

Here’s how to fix it fast:

1. Find your ideal client
↳ Who can you help the most?
↳ Who can actually pay for that help?

2. Understand their day-to-day
↳ What's frustrating them right now?
↳ If they had a magic wand what would they fix?

3. Speak their language
↳ Use words they use to describe their problems
↳ Study their language and mirror it

4. Notice what they're not saying
↳ The struggles they hint at
↳ The goals they're scared of admitting

5. Study your competitors
↳ What are they saying that resonates?
↳ How do you do that but even better

6. Align with your content
↳ Every post should solve one pain or problem
↳ Aim to inspire, motivate or educate (or all three)

7. Track what works
↳ Analyse what makes them react/comment
↳ Double down on what performs

You think more views means more success.

But that's wrong.

1,000 views from the right people beats...

100K views from people who will never buy.

P.S. Who's your ideal client? Describe them in the comments.

I’ve seen so much debate about posting daily on here.

It will help you grow but it's not necessary.

Look...

More posts = more chances to be seen.

That's just maths.

But it only works if you can sustain it.

After working with 60+ Senior Execs, this is what I've found:

The ones who grew fastest didn't post every day, they just never broke their streak.

Consistency > Frequency always.

If you’ve never posted before and go for 7x a week....

You’ll burn out.
Miss your targets.
Feel crap and give up.

I always tell my clients to pick a goal you can actually stick to.

Because when you do...

You feel good.
You build momentum.
You want to keep showing up.

That's how you grow sustainably.

So yeah, if you can post daily, do it.
You’ll probs grow faster.

But if you can’t, don’t beat yourself up.

Pick a schedule that works for your life.

And stick to it.

What’s your posting goal? I currently post 5x a week (about to bump it to 6).

We’ve all heard, LinkedIn reach is down by 65%.

7 post ideas that will 3x your reach this week:

(One for every day of the week ‒ you're welcome).

With hook templates so you can’t go wrong...

1. The time you nearly quit
↳ [Time-frame], I almost quit [thing].
↳ Until I remembered [epiphany].

2. Changing your mind
↳ I used to think [belief] was a weakness.
↳ Turns out, I was wrong.

3. The advice you ignored (you wish you didn't)
↳ Everyone said do [action] but I ignored them.
↳ Turns out they were right...

4. The comparison
↳ It took me [time frame] to do [action].
↳ But only [time frame] to do [win].

5. Your biggest career f**k up
↳ I made a huge mistake when I [action].
↳ It almost cost me [potential loss].

6. An unglamorous truth
↳ I love my [job] 99% of the time.
↳ But here’s what no one talks about [negative].

7. Your first holy s**t moment
↳ My first [milestone] felt impossible.
↳ But, this [shift] changed everything.

Start these posts with “I” but always end with “you”.

That way they're personal and motivational.

Now, no excuses…

Get posting.

P.S. Which post are you going to try first? Tag me so I can see.

I cringe when I see the word “authentic” on LinkedIn.

It's become a tactic not a behaviour.

After posting daily for 12 months, I've learnt:

The harder you try to “be authentic”...
The less you actually are.

I’ve fallen into that trap.

→ Copying bigger creators.
→ Trying to sound “professional.”
→ Pretending I had it all figured out.

My posts were fine but they felt fake.
Empty. Kinda boring.

Everything changed when I stopped posting for approval and prioritised being honest.

I started:

→ Writing like I actually talk
→ Sharing what I was learning (highs & lows)
→ Tracking DMs and replies not just likes

That’s also why I’m doing more video content.

Because you can’t fake your voice.
You can’t fake your energy.

Someone commented on my last video:

“I love the way you speak.”

That confirmed people don’t just want content.

They want you.

Authenticity isn’t a tactic.

It’s the only real way to connect with your audience.

P.S. What type of content makes you trust someone?

Lara Sophie generated 10,000 leads for Deloitte by posting on LinkedIn...

Now, she's their first ever corporate influencer.

Lara Sophie Bothur joined Deloitte as a business analyst in 2021.

A year later, she wrote a LinkedIn post about her 101-year-old grandpa.

It reached 350,000 people.

A partner saw it and said: "Do this full-time."

Deloitte (traditional, corporate, accountancy firm) made being a "LinkedIn influencer" a full-time job.

Two years ago!!!

Last year alone Lara Sophie:

→ Reached 400 million people
→ Generated $13 million in marketing value
→ Landed a cloud transformation project from one post

The client didn't even know Deloitte partnered with Google Cloud until they saw Lara's content.

Deloitte Germany now has 250 employees working part-time as corporate influencers.

They saw what worked and invested in it.

So for anyone debating if employee-generated content works or if LinkedIn matters...

Companies are creating 7-figure roles for people who understand it.

We've seen it with PayPal, OpenAI and Virio too.

Personal branding has never been so powerful.

Or as lucrative 🤑

P.S. Who thinks LinkedIn is just for job hunting still?

If you're not willing to be embarrassed...

You'll never be successful.

Last week, Jamie Laing shared a video of Austin Butler saying...

"Embarrassment is an under-explored emotion - go out there and make a fool of yourself."

My first thought:

How could anyone with a face like Austin Butler's feel embarrassed?

My second thought:

If embarrassment is the cost of entry, I'll pay that price every day.

We spend so much energy avoiding embarrassment.

→ Editing posts until they no longer sound like you
→ Deleting videos because they feel "too much"
→ Staying quiet in rooms where we belong

But embarrassment is not the enemy.
Playing it safe is.

Because, staying comfortable is expensive.

It costs you:

→ Your opportunities
→ Your future relationships
→ The life you actually want

The fear of looking stupid has killed way more dreams than failure ever has.

So yeah, embarrassment is the cost of entry.

Are you willing to pay it?

P.S. If you look like Austin Butler, please feel free to slide into my DMs...
