Dear community - Project Professionals, PMI members, PMI volunteers and PMI teams:
I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all your contributions to PMI's extraordinary achievements in 2023.
This year has been a year of impressive growth and success for PMI. Just a few examples:
⛵️The number of PMI members reached a new record and now exceeds 700,000.
⛵️The number of new PMP certified professionals reached a new record of over 340,000 worldwide in one year.
⛵️We finalized the acquisition of PMOGA and welcomed the PMOGA community to support career-long learning for project professionals – from entry-level project managers to senior-level PMO leaders.
⛵️We launched the PMIxAI initiative to empower project professionals to drive digital transformations and excel in the AI-driven era. PMIxAI includes courses, though leadership and tools.
⛵️India Single Membership became a reality. This means that PMI membership now includes chapter membership for all India members, and the benefits of both.
⛵️We continued our efforts to make PMI membership and products more accessible via our fair pricing initiative (called “PayLocal”) that was implemented early in 2023. PayLocal makes it easy to use local payment methods and currencies, but also offers a tailored pricing model adjusted to local income levels.
⛵️We strengthened our connection with corporate partners and grew the Global Executive Council, all to better position PMI to advocate for the project management profession. We also launched our first Africa Executive Council in September in Nairobi, Kenya.
⛵️We delivered a full calendar of networking and learning opportunities, including our hugely successful Global Summit in Atlanta, with an all time record of 3,700 attendees.
⛵️We expanded our impact. I encourage you to check out our Hours for Impact site to read about some of the amazing work our community has done or to pledge some volunteer time of your own.
Early in 2024, we'll begin rolling out PMI's new strategy to continue our transformation and build on the momentum from this year. Our strategy will clarify our purpose, reinforce our values, and outline a roadmap to maintain and expand PMI's position as the world's leading authority for project professionals. We'll focus on building awareness and growing PMI, further establishing our gold standard professional certifications, and building upon our suite of thought leadership, credentials, technology platforms, events, and opportunities to ensure we are supporting project professionals throughout their entire careers.
2023 has been a fantastic year, but we are already impatient to see what 2024 has in store and what all we can achieve together.
