Thanks to Claude Code, Cursor & Co. enterprise teams build cool stuff fast right now. Would be awesome, if they did not overlook one thing:

Compliance.

You'll notice when your CISO, DPO, or risk officer walks in and asks how this fits ISO, GDPR, SOC2, and model risk.

The risk and compliance department doesn't want to kill the vibe (-code).

Those questions are necessary to take your AI pilots from a siloed experiment to something your entire organisation can run at scale, securely.

You can only reach the true potential of AI when you connect everything; your systems, your data, your regulated workflows, and your teams. And that only becomes feasible when compliance is build in, from day one.

Think of it as the butter in the kitchen. It’s what goes into the pan first. It's what binds all the ingredients together and brings out the flavor in everything. Without it, your pilots stay in a silo, and never reach production.

You can't cook without butter. Coming from a Dutchman whose national dish is stamppot: trust me, I know exactly what food tastes like without it.
