Today, we presented our next generation #hydrogentrain with our partners Dr. Richard Lutz from Deutsche Bahn and Hartmut Höppner from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. With its best-in-class performance on speed, range and acceleration, the Mireo Plus H offers a compelling alternative to diesel trains and will help reduce carbon emissions.

Digitalization is the key to rebirth. A unique showcase I witnessed last week, the Siemens’ switchgear plant in Kalwa, India, which dates from 1973. Colleagues there used Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things technology to transform the brownfield site into an automation showcase for our customers. Existing machines were upgraded with sensors and software to increase productivity, optimize costs, improve quality and reduce energy consumption. Best of all, from a customer point of view, operations were uninterrupted throughout the revamp. Happy 50th Birthday, Siemens Kalwa!

What is the secret of Siemens’ success? As I explained to our shareholders yesterday, it’s putting customers first – for 175 years. Listening to them. Making their challenges our challenges.
Today, we’re serving them with technologies that combine the real and the digital worlds. So that our customers can transform their industries, and become more competitive, resilient, and sustainable. And by doing that, we’re helping them to transform the everyday for billions of people. That’s what motivates our team. #TeamSiemens #AGM23

In the third quarter, Siemens captured significant market opportunities and gained market share, despite global challenges. A big thank you to our customers and partners for their collaboration and to #TeamSiemens for their dedication.

Looking ahead, the current macroenvironment and megatrends, such as climate change, increase demand for automation, digitalization and sustainability. With our technologies, we can help customers to transform their industries and overcome their challenges. #SiemensResults

Our customers continue to place full confidence in us. We support their digital and sustainability transformation. The profit in our industrial business was impressive, and our free cash flow rose to over €1 billion. We are expanding our partnerships with Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS) – to democratize #AI for all industries. I am deeply impressed by the dedication of #TeamSiemens: the hard work is paying off. What a successful start to the first quarter of 2024. #SiemensResults

Great to have a virtual chat with Adam Selipsky, CEO of Amazon Web Services (AWS), about how the #industrialmetaverse can help companies overcome challenges ranging from inflation to supply chain shortages. Adam, thanks for joining us at our Siemens Business Conference.

Diving into Siemens’ sustainability and circularity activities is incredibly exciting – even for me :).
It was great to attend our top leadership training on “Leading in Sustainability” last week. Technology drives sustainability, and it is critical to accelerate the sustainability journey for our customers and ourselves.

Imagine experiencing the digital twin of a city district. That’s what I experienced at Siemensstadt Square in Berlin earlier this week. The digital twin is being used to plan and optimize the buildings and infrastructure of an entire city district before redeveloping it.
Digital twins grow with the real world and analyze in real time how people use their city and what’s happening in the streets or power grid. They are building blocks for the industrial metaverse of the future, which will take collaboration with all stakeholders to a new level. Thank you Stefan Kögl and the team for the unique insights. The virtual tour – a flight through the neighborhood – was amazing.
