Mega Announcement - We (Two Brothers Organic Farms®) have successfully completed Series A Funding from Rainmatter by Zerodha - founded by Nithin Kamath, Co-Founder and CEO of Zerodha & Raju Chekuri, Founder of Netenrich, Inc. .

In Oct. 2023, when Ajinkya Hange & I decided to raise Series A Funding, we decided to do it organically— no investment bankers.

We didn’t want to commoditise TBOF by making a PPT & wanted to connect only with ppl who believed in the cause.

We began our research & started connecting with people to understand how it works.

In mid Dec, we received an email from Rainmatter. They expressed interest in visiting our farm.

The core team spent a full day with us.

👉 They explored our farming practices
👉 Met our farmers
👉 Saw our manufacturing processes
👉 Visited our mega kitchen
👉 Interacted with our team.

On the 17th of Dec, we met Nithin over breakfast.

This was our first meeting - and it lasted about 2 hours. We discussed about environment, food, health, and many pressing issues.

He appreciated & acknowledged the work our team was doing & offered to be the lead investor showing genuine interest.

He understood that to build something of this caliber, strong and patient support was essential.

Raju Chekuri, the founder of NetEnrich - an ardent supporter and mentor of TBOF, also invested in Series A and helped us complete the remaining fund requirement. He had hosted us during the Two Brothers Chale America Campaign and invested in our pre-series round also.

(We raised a total of $ 7 million dollars)

What's next?

We plan to use this fund to

👉 Build our network of farmers - from 5000 to 50,000 farmers in 4 years.
👉 Make soil more healthier in our journey
👉 Expand our operations & build our community in USA  - from 5000 to 50,000 customers
👉 Help farmers transition to organic farming
👉 Address climate change is a critical part of our mission.
👉 Increase our efforts in sustainable perennial farming  to absorb more CO2

Our biggest achievement so far has been creating a sense of love & trust in the hearts of our customers.

While seeking funds, we were always looking for patient and conscious capital from those who trusted us & believed in our cause. Over 14 funds connected with us to discuss the opportunity. Each interaction brought value to our brand, and I am immensely grateful for their interest & willingness to help.

This journey, which started in 2012, when Ajinkya and I left our jobs to find a solution for sustainable farming and clean food production, has now culminated in finding more brothers who believe in the same cause.

Together, we shall improve biodiversity, enhance our farmer’s livelihoods, and provide clean food to conscious consumers all across the world.

Nithin Kamath, Nikhil Kamath, Rainmatter by Zerodha, Raju Chekuri, Jash Choraria, Tejesh Chitlangi, Dinesh Pai

A Big Thank You to each and everyone of you for supporting us, and believing in our journey.

I am looking for agencies that can help us scale up our business in the U.S.!

While I cherish my local connections a little too much, I want to reach even more people.

At Two Brothers Organic Farms®, we are passionate about bringing healthy, chemical-free, organic food to as many households as possible. As part of that mission, I’m on the lookout for agencies, whether based in the U.S. or India, that specialize in:

[1] Partnering for our Amazon[dot]com business
[2] Managing our USA website and performance marketing.

The e-commerce landscape is vast and constantly evolving. Having the right expertise on board could make a world of difference in how we navigate this space.

I know that expanding our presence requires a deep understanding of so many things. That’s where your agency expertise can help us scale and reach new heights.

Our mission at Two Brothers Organic Farms goes beyond just selling products.

Our aim is to inspire others to embrace organic farming and make healthier food choices.

Here’s a bit more about us:

👉 We’re an organic farm run by two brothers in a small village ( Bhodani, near Pune ).

👉 We are farmers by choice, driven by a passion for nurturing the land and growing food that’s good for people and the planet.

👉 All of our products are free from preservatives and chemicals.

👉 We prioritize improving soil health, promoting water conservation, and giving back to nature in everything we do.

👉 Our hope is to inspire more people to not only adopt organic food but also explore organic farming themselves.

👉 We love the simple joy of working on our farm, in harmony with nature.

By scaling our business in the U.S., we’ll have the opportunity to share our passion for organic, preservative-free foods with a wider audience, creating a bigger impact in the organic food movement.

If you are part of such an agency or know someone who is, I’d love to connect! Together, we can bring the benefits of organic farming to even more people.

Leaving behind your well paying job to pursue social impact for your homeground isn’t an easy task. There are pros and cons to it- that’s one of the things we spoke about in this one hour long conversation with Revant Himatsingka (Food Pharmer) where we discussed everything under the sun (and the mango trees) at our farm in Bodhni.

Revant left his high paying job at McKinsey last year to make India health literate while Ajinkya Hange and I left our corporate jobs 10 years ago to build a life around organic farming. Neither of our decisions sat well with our families or friends- we figured life one step at a time, battled out insecurities and doubts while believing in our dreams. And today, we’re at a better place. The highs and lows of our trajectory is what makes us so similar to each other.

In fact, one of the most interesting things we pondered upon was how difficult it can be for people to do well for themselves while also making a meaningful social impact in society.

While both Ajinkya and I are into organic farming for the impact, we also want to do well on a personal and financial level in our lives. Revant believes in the same- he wants his Wharton classmates and McKinsey colleagues to know that doing something good for the world doesn’t always mean sacrificing your personal goals.

Well, these were just a few things- there’s a lot more we spoke about! Right from his hesitancy towards organic food due to their high prices, his views on the food culture, and to our journey to the US- it was a conversation that will stay with me for a while to come.
