Apparently, 100s of people have been a “manger“ at some point in their careers.
Which is bizarre, considering I've never seen a job posting for a manger.
“Manager“ is easily the most commonly misspelled word on resumes I've seen within the Life Sciences industry.
According to a study that looked at resumes on Indeed, “Management“ is also one of the most commonly misspelled words on resumes across all industries—spelled “Mangment.“
Look, we all make mistakes.
First impressions are tough to overcome, though.
At a minimum, you need to run your resume through spellcheck.
That alone isn't enough because words like “Manger“ and “Led“ may or may not be flagged depending on your settings.
Read your resume out loud, print it out, read it backward, ask a friend or colleague to look it over, etc.
Take the extra step to make sure it's perfect.
It can make all the difference.
What do you think is THE most commonly misspelled word on resumes uploaded to Indeed?
