We must be careful to avoid simply looking at a response and instead consider the circumstances and situation in their entirety.
In my experience and opinion, this screams an employer whoâs made poor hiring and firing decisions and asking others to kick-in to put a band-aid on a larger problem.
In my 30+ years of experience, it depends on the situation. There are employers that overlook the âworkersâ and reward the wrong people. Only to turn around and ask the workers to carry the water of poor decision making.
This screams something a boss would say to someone that has gotten sick and tired of being taken for granted.
Granted, this isnât an across the board thing, but Iâve seen it so many times that itâs more than not the case. Most people donât start there. They find themselves there after things that werenât on the job description and things they donât get compensated for repeatedly take place.
Other times, they brought in someone unsuitable who proved valuable only on paper.
Love the sentiment of a team is only as strong as its weakest link, but we probably shouldnât simply put that off on the worker and should ask how that situation came to be.
