4 months can save 10 expensive years of your lifeđ€·đ»
If youâre earning 6-12 LPA don't be a stupid , this is for you
Yesterday, I was talking to a friend who works at a low to mid-paying service based software company. I canât disclose the company name here, but he was working on a very high-priority project, and he suddenly asked me to guess the salary of the tech lead of that project, literally the backbone of the entire team. She had been working there for over five years, was the go-to person for solving problems, and had in-depth technical knowledge about the project. Everyone relied on her to get unstuck. The way he described her, I couldnât have guessed anything less than 40â50 lakh. But she was earning only 12 lakh there. Just imagineâI was truly surprised.
This is just one story, but I hear many such stories, and every time, it makes me wonderâwhatâs the problem with these people? Do they not know their own worth? Or are they so unaware that they donât realize whatâs happening in the tech market outside? I asked my friend, âCanât she just prepare for 4-5 months, leave this job, and join a better company?â And thatâs when I understood the real reason behind all thisâthe comfort zone.
Let me tell you one thingâyour 20s are the most valuable years of your life. You are getting paid for the most expensive time of your life, so đđšđ§âđ đŹđđđđ„đ đđšđ« đ„đđŹđŹ. And itâs not because youâre not capable, but because youâre too lazy and too comfortable in your current situation. Itâs always better to start early because money grows with time, just like compounding. The more you earn now, the bigger your salary hikes will be in the future.
If youâre reading this, ask yourselfâare you earning as much as you truly can, or is there still room to earn more? Can you switch jobs if you just push yourself for 4-5 months, even if it feels mentally exhausting? And let me be very honestâit really is just 4-5 months of work to prepare for DSA and other topics needed for job interviews. Itâs not rocket science!
I canât share exact salary figures, but Iâm sure that many of you who are earning around 8-12 lakh can easily get a 100% hike just by joining a decent startup. And if you manage to get into an MNC, you could get up to a 300% hike!
Just think about itâwhat you're earning in 10 years will take you only 2 years just by preparing for 4-5 months. Isnât that enough to motivate you to step out of your comfort zone? Donât be closed-minded or ignore opportunities. Stay alert and look at whatâs possible!đđ
Let me know in the comments if you want me to share the resources you need to switch jobs based on the current job market requirements?
