Hello everyone. The end of my first day as CEO of Rolls-Royce feels like the right time for my first post here. Rolls-Royce is a complex, multi-divisional global business with a strong brand and we must urgently evolve our company to meet a new era of opportunity. I plan to be active here on LinkedIn, not only because I want to help tell Rolls-Royce’s incredible story as we write this new chapter, but also because I want to hear from you.

I’ve been energised by new colleagues, and I am eager to meet as much of our global team as I can in the coming months. Great companies rise to tough challenges. Winning will not be easy, but together we are capable of extraordinary things.

I would like to congratulate both Rob Watson and Adam Riddle as they take up their new roles within the Rolls-Royce Executive Team today and announce that Helen McCabe will be joining us later this year as Chief Financial Officer.

Rob, who has been with Rolls-Royce for 13 years, has been appointed President – Civil Aerospace. He has spent the past five years building Rolls-Royce’s capabilities in electric aviation, demonstrating his ability to develop new technologies and products. He will help bring a fresh perspective to Civil Aerospace as the business focuses on delivering increased cash, profitability and returns.

Adam has been appointed President – Defence, and Chairman & CEO – Rolls-Royce North America. He has a strong history in Defence, most recently leading its successful global services operation which accounts for over half of the division’s annual revenues. In his previous roles running Defence’s future programmes and strategy, he played a pivotal role in securing key contracts which will generate multi-year returns. These included the strategically important long-term contract to re-engine the US Air Force’s B-52 aircraft.

Both are highly experienced leaders and will bring renewed energy and a determination to succeed to Civil Aerospace and Defence. I look forward to working with them.

I’d also like to thank Panos Kakoullis for the support he has given me since I arrived. He will be helping us deliver and report our half year performance later this year.
