There’re so much buzz and noise in the tech market and it’s difficult for an average new graduate to find which tech stack is really growing and how much demand exist in each industry. When it comes to decision making, my personal rule is to follow the data and trust the numbers as number never lies. As promised earlier to help everyone in the industry have a better understanding of where the technology trends are going, I’ll publish job data for the global market every 2-3 months so that you can stay up to date on the trends and build your career in the right path.
Here are my bullet points findings on these trends:
-> Roughly 25% of the total jobs that are posted in last 1 quarter were contractual and remaining 75% were looking for full time engineers.
-> 60% of those full time jobs were onsite and 40% allowed remote.Â
Java is still the strongest in terms of demand in the industry.
-> SDET, including manual QA, is surprisingly emerging, and it has gone up since last quarter.
-> MERN stack is going stable and strong for the past many quarters, but there has been a saturation seen in this stack as the supply of engineers are also very high in MERN.
Â
-> Under Niche category, Salesforce is the top trending thing with the lowest saturation point in the market.
-> There’s a surge in demand for Machine Learning and Data Science, mostly coming from the funded startups and the supply is too little which means that there’s a huge upside in building your career in these technologies in the coming months/years.
-> Data engineering is going up also. There’s a lot of new startups working in data abstraction.
-> Ruby on Rails is going stable but has a lot of saturation too. Same goes with Magneto PHP.
-> Blockchain demand is extremely underperforming and down now a days.
I hope this data is helpful. Please let me know if you would like me to cover any specific tech stacks.
