My wife Leily passed the U.S. citizenship test on Friday! We had no idea that she would be “sworn in” as a citizen immediately after the test, but I was able to rush out of the office and join her at the Boston federal building to watch her officially take the oath. I am so proud of her.

I spent time practicing the citizenship test with Leily prior to her taking the test. Many of the questions are no joke. How many voting members of the House of Representatives are there? Who is the Chief Justice? Who were the writers of the Federalist Papers? I wonder how many current U.S. citizens could answer these questions, but I'm glad it's a real test.

My father immigrated to the United States with just a suitcase when he was 22 years old. My wife started her adult life here as an immigrant too and now she is building her own business. I feel grateful to live in a country that welcomed them with open arms and has given us so many opportunities. Thank you America! 🇺🇸❤️

A chapter closes, a new one begins...

We moved out of our headquarters at 1325 Boylston St in Boston today. The moment is bittersweet. So much of the WHOOP story was written in the hallways and conference rooms of 1325. We learned a lot as a company in this space. We faced challenges here. Some of my most painful decisions were made here.

1325 is also where we grew our business 200x. It's where we created 3 generations of Whoop technology and where we reinvented our business model. It's where we came together as a team to solve challenges and unlock human performance.

Now it's time for our next chapter as we move into the iconic new Whoop HQ at One Kenmore Square. Onwards!

My thoughts on #AmazonHalo because we all need another big tech co that listens to us 24/7 and collects naked images of us:

Yes, Amazon imitated our industrial design at WHOOP and yes they met with us as potential investors years ago under the Alexa Fund.

Ultimately I welcome Amazon to the market and expect every big tech company to play in it. Health monitoring is here to stay. Every human one day will be wearing health tech. The low end versions of this tech will present data, the premium versions will coach you on it.

Consumers will benefit from more players. But pls BEWARE: Many companies will make YOU the product. Amazon being one of the most likely to exploit your data for other means. It's hard to understate how invasive it is that a Trillion dollar company wants you to wear a 24/7 wearable that intentionally records EVERYTHING you say. Re-read that and tell me it's not a dystopian future.

WHOOP exists to improve your life not invade it. We will continue to build a better product experience than the rest of the market. Many of our members will reflect that Whoop is amazing not just for the things that it does but the things it very intentionally chooses NOT to do.

We don't record you. We don't photograph you. And we certainly don't sell your data. Good luck Amazon.
