I paid Claude $2.34 for a $0.31 answer.

One prompt fixes it:

Here's the test. 20 files, 107,000 tokens, one question, same correct answer both times:

Opus reading everything itself

When Claude reads a file directly, that file lands in your main conversation and gets resent on later turns through prompt caching, until something clears it or compacts it. Your bill grows. Your answers get vaguer. And you don't notice either one until you open the usage screen.

My Claude session limit hit 100%.

I kept working anyway. Here's the setup:

You know the moment. "You're out of messages for a few hours." Mid-task.

ChatGPT or Gemini would happily take over. Except they know nothing about your work: not the draft, not the decisions, not the ideas you already killed.

Claude is annoying, 900 words to just say yes.

One file cut it to 3 lines. Here it is:

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲: it opened with "depends on what you optimize for", walked through both ecosystems, weighed Pixel against Samsung, and landed on iPhone in the last sentence.

𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿: it opened with "iPhone", gave the one reason that decides it, and named who should pick the other one instead.

Same verdict. It just took 200 words to get there instead of 20.

Here's what the file tells it:

I haven't opened n8n in months.

For on-demand work, I just ask Claude.

The features were never the problem.

n8n, Zapier and Make are as powerful as ever.
40-step scenarios, branching, error handling, all of it still runs.

What changed is the experience.

The old way:

I asked Claude to read every call we lost.

It came back with the 4 reasons. Here's the prompt:

Your AI agent will destroy your company.
