7 factors that determine whether you will get called for an interview or not:

โ— Most candidates are eliminated at the resume screening stage. A great resume will make a positive first impression. In larger companies, you will receive an rejection email within a few hours of submitting your resume!

โ— You might have applied to a position that has already been filled, without you knowing.

โ— What if there are dozens of people with more experience and stronger skills applying for the same job? No interview for you. Competition will also be fierce for remote-friendly and remote-only jobs.

โ— In a position with hundreds of applicants, locals may get preference. So they could start faster since they won't have to relocate. As a result, the company saves money.

โ— Companies need time and money to apply for visas to hire you. Sponsoring visas is usually reserved for senior positions where visas are not available. It is rare for tech companies to sponsor visas for junior positions.
