LETS PUT AN END TO HIRING HYPOCRISY ONCE AND FOR ALL

STOP asking for degree educated candidates when you don’t have one yourself

STOP asking candidates about their weaknesses at interview but overselling the job

STOP saying you want diversity but hiring “mini me” candidates

STOP saying the most important thing is industry experience when your top performer came from an unrelated field

STOP saying you want “entrepreneurial” candidates but lean towards recruiting those who are no threat and you can control

STOP saying it’s all about values and culture when you rely on AI to screen CV’s for buzzwords

And please please please

STOP asking candidates to “show their commitment” by attending an interview at 24 hours notice before then ghosting them for two weeks with no feedback.

Get this right and everyone will win - particularly you and your business!

IF YOU HAVE AN INTERNAL CANDIDATE WHO IS PRETTY MUCH NAILED ON TO GET YOUR VACANCY....

Then just appoint them.

Simple as that.

Jobseekers most important currency is their time.

Don’t waste it unnecessarily on a fake benchmarking exercise.

Or at the very least avoid false hope by managing expectations openly.

One of my career concierge clients had 13....(yes thirteen) interviews for a role that went to an internal applicant.

I had to be talked out of invoicing them for his time and the free consulting.

Please play with a straight bat.

Be transparent.

You have no idea of the negative impact you are having if you don’t.
