For the first time in history, 5 generations are working side by side.

And honestly, most of us are getting it wrong.

I’ve spent years watching leaders build companies and watching others quietly break them.

The difference almost never came down to strategy.

It came down to how they treated the people around the table.

The ones who broke things:
↳ Called Gen Z ā€œentitledā€
↳ Called Boomers ā€œout of touchā€
↳ Surrounded themselves with people who agreed with them
↳ Mistook sameness for alignment

The ones who built something lasting:
↳ Paired a 22-year-old’s instinct with a 62-year-old’s experience
↳ Let Gen X cut through the noise
↳ Trusted Millennials to bridge the gaps
↳ Took Gen Alpha seriously, they’re already showing us where the world is going

Here’s what I keep coming back to:

The best leaders don’t hire the smartest person in the room.

They make the room smarter.

If you’re just starting out you bring something no one else at that table has.

Please don’t apologize for it.

And if you’re deciding who gets to climb the next generation isn’t a threat to your legacy.

They are your legacy.

Saw this and had to reshare.

12 phrases great leaders use.

Simple words that have huge impact.

šŸ”— I trust your judgment.
šŸ”—What do you need to succeed?
šŸ”—How are you really doing?

Is it easy to say but harder to mean?

Here’s the truth I’ve learned after years in operating roles:

Good leaders build people up with small things they say every day.

Bad leaders tear people down the same way.

If you’re just starting your career:

– Notice which bosses ask questions
– See who shares credit when things go well
– Watch how your manager acts when something goes wrong
– Count how often you hear ā€œthank youā€

If you lead a team:

Every promotion is a choice about your culture.

Your best people will leave if they work for someone who can’t say these 12 things and mean them.

Words shape teams.

Teams shape companies.

It really is that simple.

Save this. Share it with someone who needs it.
