My father always said, “Be the best in whatever you do, even if it's just selling sing chana”.
This advice stuck with me – 'Anything worth doing, is worth doing well’! And, it’s something I’ve lived by ever since.
During COVID-19 when e-commerce skyrocketed - we had a demand surge and we were short staffed at the warehouse.
There were so many days Trisha Rajani Vaidya and I spent early mornings sorting through orders, and late nights packing boxes.
It wasn't just a job; it was a commitment to ensuring someone, somewhere got the medicine they needed :)
Through this time, I learned to appreciate unseen heroes who bring convenience in our lives. For the delivery riders, warehouse operators and customer care executives - there was no lockdown and there is no Diwali/new years break.
Although our business scaled 7x that year, we are not the only ones who can take credit for it :)
Here’s what I believe and is what this video from Urban Company explains beautifully:
From the Urban Company professionals who clean our homes, to the customer care executives who answer our phones and the Swiggy/Zomato riders who deliver our food, many giants today stand tall because of this backbone :)
No Deliveries = No business
In our daily lives, every role, big or small, has its own value. It reflects the doer's skill, pride and dedication.
Think of what Gandhiji believed — From cleaning bathrooms to fighting for our freedom, every task should be done with the same diligence!
So, the next time you’re giving an OTP to a delivery exec or someone comes home to clean, or an electrician asks for a chair to reach the ceiling, offer more than just a frown or annoyance.
Greet them with a smile, engage in a friendly chat and hand them a glass of water or a nod of appreciation.
Small actions cost us nothing but, if each of us reading this make a change - I’m sure it’ll make a huge difference.
After all, they are the ones who keep our world moving :)
