TikTok’s CEO is one of the most impressive public-facing CEOs of modern times.

Last week Shou Chew took to Congress to fight the proposed ban on TikTok in the US and spoke with more composure than all the politicians fighting against him.

After the hearing, he took to TikTok to share his thoughts on the vote afterwards and spoke in a way that gains the trust and support of the TikTok community.

For me, it highlights two important things for companies and CEOs in 2024:

1. How important it is for companies to have CEOs who are competent speakers and comfortable on video.

2. How important it is for CEOs themselves to develop the ability to speak in front of people and on camera.

My 85-year-old nana, like a lot of people her age, lives on her own and with it coming up to Christmas, she had an idea.

She called me up as she doesn’t know what I do but she thinks it’s “Advertising” and thought I may be able to help get her idea out there.
