Five months ago, she went through 2 video interviews and 3 face-to-face meetings. After that, she heard nothing. She sent polite follow-up emails, made phone calls, and left voice messages, but received no response.
So, she moved on and accepted another offer. Out of the blue, the company called to say she was hired. Naturally, she was confused and frustrated, and she declined the offer.
Here's the issue:
Ghosting candidates is not only rude but also unprofessional. Subjecting candidates to multiple interview rounds without providing feedback is exhausting and discouraging.
Employers, once a candidate has invested their time in interviews, they deserve a response. No excuses. A bit of respect and empathy can make a huge difference.
