Luxe Collective is Closing Down.

I never thought I’d have to say this but the company I created 7 years ago, at just 18 years old, will no longer exist.

After a year long fight after we were broken into last year, in which both me and my brother were doing all we could just to get us through to the next day...

We are no longer able to continue.

This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make…

But, the last year has been the most painful in my life and to be truly honest, whilst I’m talking to you now, I’m overwhelmed with relief - I’ve never been so mentally and physically drained, stressed and constantly anxious.

Fighting daily just to keep the lights on has really taken a lot out of us.

We have tried every single avenue we possibly could to carry on - but we’ve finally been defeated.

It’s easy for me to sit here and say the only reason as to why we’ve failed is the robbery.

But that’s not entirely true.

The break in not only affected the financial state of the company but also took such an emotional and mental toll on me and my brother which ultimately affected my leadership & strategic decision making. I made decisions that, in retrospect, I regret & I got wrong.

I take 100% accountability for this, it’s on me.

The criminals who broke in haven’t just ruined the company. They’ve ruined the livelihoods of not just me & my brother but all the amazing staff that we have had to make redundant and who’ve lost their jobs in the process.

I want to thank everybody who, over the last 7 years, has shown support to me, my brother and my company.

Whether that was engaging with our social media or using our service.

All the team members who have been a part of Luxe Collective at any moment, especially in the last 12 months when things got tough and times were uncertain - thank you.

We had some unbelievable talent in this building and if there’s any business watching this who are interested in taking new people on, I’d be more than happy to provide a reference.

Although we have failed in succeeding with this brand…

There are still things that no one will be able to take away from me and my brother.

• I started this brand as a teenager and in the space of 7 years it was recognised all over the world and got the whole industry talking about us.
• We generated over £30M in revenue from starting in our bedroom with £0 investment.
• I reached over 3 million followers and 1 Billion Views on social media.

But most importantly, I built a relationship with my brother that would never have existed without going on this journey with him.

Now, we’re both back to square one. Not left with much except.

The 7 years of priceless experience.

But now we finally have a fresh head to start something new with…

Thank you for everything, goodbye.

My favourite podcast I’ve ever done is out today! 🫶

We spoke for over 2.5 hours on & off camera. 📸

I feel unbelievably grateful I’m able to spend my time doing things like this. 🤯

Maybe I should start a podcast, what do you think? 🤔

I’m Ben, I’m 23 years old, I founded Luxe Collective Fashion with my brother, Joe, in 2018. 🗓

We buy & sell pre loved luxury items online. 💻

We now have a team of 23 & in 2023 we will turn over £7.5M. So… HOW?! 😱

Me and Joe were both entrepreneurial kids, selling candles, air fresheners, books, underwear, caps. You name it, we sold it. 🕯

One Christmas my sister asked my mum for a pair of £400 trainers. £400! How is my sister getting a pair of £400 trainers, our budget for Christmas was always £100! 🎄

I threw a hissy fit & asked my mum why my sister had a bigger budget than me. 🤑

She told me they were £100 from a second hand website called Vestiaire. A market place, similar to eBay, but just for luxury goods. 🎁

I became obsessed over this website & I knew I could do it better. 🌐

Instead of the market place style, My plan was to offer people instant prices for their items, like we buy any car buy for luxury goods. 🚗

I knocked on my brothers bedroom asked him to be my partner, it took him about 3 seconds say yes. ✅

Now we needed money. 💰

Luckily, he stupidly took out a £10,000 pound loan for a car, in which he had £1,000 remaining. 💸

Combined with my savings, we had a grand total of £1,200. 🏦

We had the spare bedroom as our office and we were ready. 👊

We started off buying items off eBay and Depop, clean them up & sell them on Instagram for more. 🤳

It wasn’t until almost 2 years of struggle, of self doubt, of worrying that we made a horrible decision that our company finally started gaining traction. 💨

What gave us this traction was an app called TikTok. 📹

TikTok is single handedly the most important reason for the rise of Luxe Collective. 📈

We started TikTok in late 2019 after hearing Gary Vaynerchuk not shut up about it. 🗣

I posted 3-5 times a day for over 2 years. 🏋‍♀️

We now have over 1.9 million followers and 60 million monthly views across our social networks. 😵

Social media changed our lives & it can change yours too. 💥

I have something special to share 🥳

I’m so proud to announce that Luxe Collective Fashion are 1 of just 5 companies in the UK chosen by TikTok to launch pre loved luxury on TikTok Shop 📲

This is a huge testament to the team over the years, who have created:

- A huge following on the platform 📊
- A massive amount of trust in the industry 🤝
- A strong & growing relationship with TikTok 📈

Come and say hello when we launch this Friday at 3pm! 👋
