When I was working at LinkedIn Learning we did a study on what gets people not just to start a job but to STAY at a job.
👉 Some of the things we looked at were:
✅ Compensation
✅ Promotions
✅ Company Culture
✅ Manager Relationship
✅ Team Relationship
✅ Personal Growth
and a few others.
You would think that getting promoted and earning more would have been at the top of the list, but they weren't.
👉 Although people absolutely care about those things, the main factor that decided whether people stay or quit was whether they were learning.
As the saying goes, “if you're not growing, you're dying,“ is absolutely true in the workplace.
When you're considering accepting a job or staying at your current job, think about the things you're learning on a monthly basis.
👉 If you find that it's been 3, 4, or 5 months since you learned anything knew, it might be time to consider other options.
