Four years ago today, I was dared to post my first video on LinkedIn...
š In celebration, here are four lessons from my four-year journey of consistent content creation.
Lessons I wish I had known earlier, and insights only gained through experience.
1ļøā£ Embrace the marathon (not the sprint) šāāļø
Building a powerful personal brand is not an overnight thing but a commitment to the long haul. As someone who started without a strategic roadmap but a burning desire to share my story, I've come to realize that it's more about relishing the journey and building genuine connections than reaching the destination.
2ļøā£ Let authenticity be your guide āØ
When I started on LinkedIn, I didn't have a mapped out business plan. But, I did have a burning desire to share my story. What followed was an overwhelmingly positive response that catapulted me into a self-discovery journey like no other. If you're stepping into content creation without a detailed strategy, that's okay! Remember boldly show up, experiment, fail forward, share your passions, and along the way, you'll carve out your unique groove šš¾
3ļøā£ Trust your intuition more than external validation šŖ
While my experiences with various coaches were invaluable, I sometimes wish I had leaned more on my intuition. As entrepreneurs, we reach a point where we realize we possess all we need for success. Constantly seeking advice can hinder action and momentum. Trust the knowledge you've acquired and apply it. Stop white-boarding and start creating!
4ļøā£ Aim for completion, not perfection ā
As high-achievers, we often strive for nothing less than perfection, which can be an unrealistic and exhausting pursuit. Instead, focus on progress and consistency. Embrace the journey, learn along the way, and remember ā done is better than perfect because perfect may never get done.
BONUS: Let faith be your š§
As a Christian entrepreneur, my faith has been my refuge during the inevitable storms of (entrepreneurial) life. Remember why you embarked on this journey in the first place and trust that God has a plan.
As Philippians 1:6 reminds us, He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion š
Lastly, a huge shout out to everyone who has walked with me on this incredible four-year journey. It's been a rollercoaster of growth, adventure, challenges, and gratitude, and I wouldn't change it for the world š
Cheers to the next four years of growth + beyond! š š„
For my fellow faith-driven entrepreneurs ready to elevate your brand and voice on LinkedIn and beyond, I'd love to support you. I have two slots left this month for 1:1 coaching.
Ready to take a life-changing plunge?
I dare you š
