Coinbase announced a 14% layoff, citing AI efficiencies and flatter orgs.

Tough day for folks (DM me if I can help!) but if I found myself suddenly laid off from a company that cited AI as a cause, this is what I’d do:

- download codex and Claude/code
- say: “this was my job and how I spent my day, how can you help me automate it w skills”
- push a dozen of those skills to GitHub
- open up Claude design and make a portfolio site, with an “agent” per skill explaining how you built it, what tools it interacts with, etc.” give to lovable or v0 or whatever to publish
- post that site and link to GitHub on LinkedIn
- search “ai for ” and try all the new startups, form an opinion, message their founders
- try something scary like openclaw, form an opinion
- take a course in tactical AI in your field
- build, share, build

The gap in AI adoption is getting bigger. Start reskilling now while it’s early.

The time is now.
I'm really loving Claude Design more than I thought I would, so much so I blew through limits on 2 (!!!) accounts testing it.

So here it is, the $200-in-overages Claude Design review + walkthrough you've been waiting for.

I show you:
- how to set up (or steal) a design system
- why I think product marketers are sleeping on Claude Design
- who I think this product kills (spoiler: not Figma)
- my nits + feedback, which mostly have to do with latency--so much time sauteeing onions--and how every time I test an anthropic product, I get rate limited before a magic moment.

BONUS: I walk through the brand new ChatGPT Images 2.0 model, which gets rid of typography slop and improves significantly on layout work.

As always, a big thank you to our wonderful sponsors:

I gave an 11 minute talk? lecture? rant? at the Women In Product conference on the generational economic opportunity of AI and how women are missing out.

My CTA was for women to build things, learn hard skills, and do it in public - because if you're not feeling AI fomo now you will soon.

Also my outfit was v cute:
Blink and we did it (last week -- while I was busy touching grass.)

How I AI has now over 100k subscribers on youtube

It's been a super fun year of being everyone's AI mom, and I can't wait to share more with you all.

Soooo Thariq Shihipar has straight up changed my life with these 5 words:

"HTML is the new markdown."

It's so obvious in hindsight: while .md is simple to write and agents can read it well, it's a total slog to eyeball as a human.

In this special ep recorded live at Code with Claude, Thariq walks me through how he:

- uses HTML artifacts as interactive specs
- builds throwaway micro-UIs
- maintains a living design system in HTML
- prompts Claude with "whatever is needed" to give it room to actually think

He also tells us what comes after the SWE + PM role

As always, a huge TY to our amazing sponsors:

Celigo- Intelligent automation built for AI
Persona - trusted identity verification for any use case
I read dozens of posts about Claude Skils and not one mentioned you have to make a .zip file

Which is why I’m starting How I AI mini episodes, where I give my quick, hands-on take on new AI releases and how best to get started with them.

In our first mini ep, I walk through
- what skills are
- (trying to) use Claude to make them
- more successfully using Cursor to make them
- accessing and running them in both Claude code and the chat interface

Less than 30 minutes, practical, and a no-judgement zone for beginners.

Mini-eps are sponsored by ChatPRD

Before, being a CPO/exec meant lots + lots of meetings.

Now I see a lot of my peers in leadership spend more of their time building + coding w AI. And TBH? They seem to be having a lot more fun.

Rachel Wolan is CPO at Webflow exemplifies this "IC CPO" mindset in this week's How I AI, showing us:

- the AI chief of staff she built for herself to run everything, from her calendar to networking prep
- how she runs multiple Cursor instances, models, and Claude Code interfaces depending on the task at hand
- how "builder day" at Webflow gets the whole team engaged in AI adoption

This is one every CEO should send to their staff and ask: what are you (not just your team) building today?

As always, big thanks to our wonderful sponsors:

good news: /goal in codex has solved all my problems
bad news: i'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs while the agents do all my bidding

it's no secret i'm a little bit obsessed with codex, and /goal is a big part of that.

i put together a 30m ep on /goal including:
- what it is
- how to write a good goal
- how to drive bug zero with Vercel Sentry and OpenAI codex
- two non-technical use cases for goal, including cleaning up 4,000 emails over 4 hours
