It was a pleasure - alongside Christian Bruch & Anne-Laure de Chammard - to welcome the UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, to our Berlin site this lunchtime.

We had a great discussion with the Prime Minister, on his first bilateral trip since taking office. Sir Keir took a tour of our production facilities, including our electrolyser factory.

Through our technology, we support an estimated one-sixth of the #electricity generated worldwide. In the UK, Siemens Energy is at the forefront of supporting the energy transition. We cover almost the entire energy value chain, from #wind to #grid, including high profile projects like Moray West, Sofia, Viking Link & NeuConnect.

The UK Government wants to deliver clean power by 2030. Sir Keir explained creating more highly skilled jobs in every corner of the country will be critical to this and we will continue to play an active role, including supporting the Government on delivering on this mission.

At Siemens Energy we employ 98,000 people worldwide. In the UK we have more than 6,000 employees, we’ve recruited over 1,000 new colleagues in the last three years, and we also have extensive #apprenticeship and graduate programmes helping to train up the work force we need now and for the #greenjobs of the future.

I’m immensely proud of our UK and Ireland team, it was brilliant to be able to share with the Prime Minister today how they are making a difference. #EnergyTransition #UK #Germany
