Today is my 51st birthday and I have just received the very best present in the world!
My boy Fred has just been commissioned at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and will be joining the British Army (Royal Engineers) as a Second Lieutenant.
He’s hoping to join 33 Regiment – the bomb disposal experts who also clear the awful IED’s and landmines that have killed and maimed so many people around the world.
If my heart swells with any more pride I’m gonna have a coronary!
Please wish him all the luck in the world – he’s one of life’s good people.
