At the time when I started working…
She told me that they think I’m good at communication.
But he says that I don’t have a dynamic personality.
These were the words told to me over phone calls within a span of 5 hours.
I had mixed feeling because the first sentence was told to me by a colleague and the latter by a senior.
To tell you the truth, it wasn’t mixed; I was upset the whole day, only to realize much later that the second one was due to some ulterior motive.
Maybe it was the inexperience and age that I reacted that way.
Had it been now…
I wouldn’t have been too excited with the compliment or taken aback by the other statement. In fact, I would sit on the two opinions and reflect on it: something that I will share in this post.
It's crucial not to let every comment or remark elicit an emotional reaction from us. When we allow others' words to control our emotions, we give away our power and let external factors dictate our inner peace.
Instead, we should sit back and observe the situation with a logical mindset. By distancing ourselves from immediate emotional responses, we can better assess the intent and context behind what is being said.
This approach helps us respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. Logical observation allows us to maintain our composure, make more rational decisions, and ultimately, retain control over our emotions and actions.
