I am very excited to announce the launch of our new blue team course at TCM Security: Security Operations (SOC) 101.

This course by Andrew Prince is 29 HOURS. It is absolutely jam-packed with content.

You can view the entire curriculum here:
Here's our company playbook, in a nutshell:

Staff:
Minimum salary: $70,000
Raises: Performance + inflation, not just a silly 3%
PTO: 4+1 weeks to start, increased with company tenure
Health/Dental/Vision: 100% employer coverage
401k: 5% match (we could do better here)
Training: $5,000/yr personal (outside of company requests)

On top of good pay/benefits, empowerment is important. Employees should be encouraged to think freely and to express ideas, concerns, and everything in between.

Culture is also important. Having employees that truly believe in your mission makes you that much more successful as an organization.

Surround yourself with the best talent you can afford. Strive to be the dumbest person in the room and embrace it.

Employees are a company's number one asset and should be treated as such.

Customers:
*Quality of work above all else or your reputation will suffer.
*Reputation is EVERYTHING. One good customer experience may lead to one or two referrals. One bad one could ruin your entire business.
*Never over-promise and never sell something you do not have the talent to do (looking at you, “pentest“ companies).
*Always ask for feedback, always accept criticism, and always work towards improving.
*Work towards being busy enough to fire the customers you don't gel with and keep the customers you adore

Principles (derived from the above):
*Employees first.
*Hire smart and make it hard to imagine quitting.
*Provide the best quality, not just the cheapest offering.
*Never risk your reputation.
*Always strive to be better and never become complacent.
I love when you're doing an internal pentest and you see all the admins changed their password right before the engagement started. We make the place more secure before we even get there.

😂 😂 😂
We get a lot of praise at TCM Security for being affordable.

Yes, we're cheaper than almost all other vendors. Our price points are fair and reasonable.

We're only viewed as affordable because much of the education industry is more focused on extracting as many dollars as possible from their students versus actually educating them.

Our business model is proof that education can be done without greed and can be done while still being able to amazing wages to our staff.
We are excited to announce that we have added some new material to the Practical Ethical Hacking course.

We have removed and replaced the old web application pentest section content and labs with around 3 hours of brand new content and custom lab material.

You can check out the new content here:
A special shout out to Walmart, who sent us a nice cease and desist letter today for showing Sam's Club in a video on the platform. They have a public VDP and no hacks were demonstrated. Weird flex and weird way to spend your legal dollars, but okay.

This is why I shop at Costco.
Took first place in the RVASec CTF with Ken Nevers Bradley Thornton and JR Johnson

Thanks MetaCTF for a wonderful event!

I'm working on something different for the YouTube channel. It's called “Deadly OSINT“ and focuses on mistakes people have made that have gotten them killed.

I'm not much of a documentary style person, but here's a small preview of Episode 1.

Edit: the video is now live https://lnkd.in/gSde-ndH
If you're looking to become an ethical hacker, or even work in cybersecurity, we've put together an incredibly detailed resource guide for building a strong foundation in cyber.

We've mapped out the training, certifications, and skills needed to be successful and provided links to everything. It's a guide you can bookmark and come back to as you need it.

Best of all, most of the resources provided are completely FREE, because who doesn't love affordable education?

For all of you visual learners, we also included a video version of the guide.
