A busy last week of the year!

We have received a binding offer from Yellow Wood Partners LLC to acquire Elida Beauty, which includes over 20 beauty and personal care brands. And we announced today our agreement to acquire K18, a fast-growing and premium US-based brand that sits at the intersection of beauty and biotechnology.

I am very excited about this portfolio development. K18 is all about science-backed innovation to identify and address the causes of hair damage, making it a favourite with both professionals and consumers. The K18Peptideâ„¢ mimics the human keratin structure to reverse chemical damage on all hair types in minutes, helping to replace complex hair treatment routines with immediate results.

I’d like to welcome the K18 company and people to the Unilever family. And I would like to thank my colleagues who worked tirelessly towards the end of the year to make these important portfolio changes happen. They are a good example of the focus and simplification we are bringing through our Growth Action Plan - doing fewer things, better and with greater impact to help realise Unilever’s full potential.

Wishing everyone a happy festive season and a very healthy and prosperous 2024!

It’s been a great start to the year visiting some of our key markets.

I started in Saudi Arabia, a country going through significant transformation. Spending time with our customers, partners, and employees there gave me firsthand insight into how well our business is performing and the positive impact we’re making through our brands, operations, and people. The region’s vibrant and young population make it an exciting area for growth and future opportunities.

Next stop was Turkey – within which Unilever has a century-long history. Turkey is one of our top markets in terms of business size and yet with its young and digital savvy population, it also offers a high potential for growth and innovation. Seeing the business with my own eyes, it’s no surprise that our Turkey business is the leading company in the consumer goods space. Proud to be the partner of choice for the trade and number 1 preferred employer of the country. And, despite its achievements, the team continues to seek new firsts and growth in all areas – from business operations to executing unmissable brand superiority and beyond.

Thank you to all the teams involved in making these visits a welcome and valuable experience. Thank you customers for spending time with me and passing on your feedback on where we can continue to improve.
