Here are a few actionable ways to leave a lasting impact (no matter your title):
1. Listen with Intention
During conversations, especially one-on-ones, practice âactive listening.â Repeat key points back to the speaker to show youâre engaged and genuinely understanding their perspective.
2. Give Genuine Recognition
Regularly acknowledge your teamâs efforts, both big and small. A quick message, a shout-out in a meeting, or a personal thank-you goes a long way.
3. Be Transparent and Honest
Share as much as you can about decisions, goals, and changes that impact the team. If thereâs a problem, involve your team in finding solutions.
4. Show Empathy
When a team member is struggling, take time to ask, âHow can I support you?â Empathy can be as simple as recognizing their stress or offering to lighten their load.
